Empathy
Mapping
When I put myself to user shoes, the unseen problem became the reality. This process helped to identify the thoughts and feelings of a student. It made me look at the issue through their eyes, and empathizing with their feelings.

Cards Sorted
Here I took the approach of OPEN CARD SORTING , helped me to design the initial information architecture and understand how users can naturally categorize the information in the application and its relevance

Design
System
It is one of the important step during design process to maintain aesthetically coherent visuals by providing a single source of elements, patterns, and styles and to unite diverse components of the application. As an added advantage, the design system helped me to manage the significant visual designs on a large scale through out the e-commerce application by reducing redundancy while creating designs for user flow and to maintain the visual consistency across different pages. Maintaining the consistency in the e-commerce application helps the user to understand the components of the product easily and makes his purpose of visit hazel free
Color System

Font System
Blue is one of the three primary colors (RGB). Because blue is favored by so many people, it is often viewed as a non-threatening color that can seem conservative and traditional. Blue calls to mind feelings of calmness and relaxation. It is often described as peaceful, tranquil, secure, and orderly. According to psychology of colors, blue is seen as a sign of stability and reliability.

Prototypes

Prototype
Validation

While designing, I was testing the alignment, grid and components of the prototypes using Figma's prototype mirror share app and carried out in-person observation testing to make sure all the components are in place and consistent all over the app. I conducted following steps to validate my design.
-
I performed moderated usability testing with low- to mid-fidelity prototypes collect users' opinions, comments, and reactions to a first iteration of the design over a zoom call. During this phase, I also tested the information architecture and the layout of the app which helped me to improvise the existing designs
-
Qualitative testing helped me collect the ideas and points for empathy mapping
-
Then I performed five-second testing as part of contextual validation
-
Lastly, I made usability study presentation with the same users to collect the insights and recommendations
Insights
-
Identified the friction before hand, prior launching the app designs
-
User cursor touch points(heatmaps) while they testing helped to understand user behavior better, and where they are finding difficulty to use the app
-
Thought it costed my time, helped me in saving money
8 tasks out of 10 were success from 6 participants
80% of users achieved the task without difficulty
Average task time given was 5 seconds
Easy to navigate and to understand

-
I led one man army, handling fully fledged project was a challenge in itself, and I enjoyed the process of getting everything done on time
-
Feedbacks are important, but if really believe you have justification for the good point, then dont give up the ideas - use them before someone else
-
Learning is the first step to find the second step of improvisation. I learnt so many unpopularized features of Figma
-
KPI helped me to design the product on time. Keeping oneself calm and patient helps.
-
Its is important to formulate the interview questions prior to meetings, else it may misguide the whole design process
-
Each and every step of design process play vital role in order to achieve the successful e-commerce platform
